About
Shobuj (Bengali – সবুজ), a well-known Bangladeshi singer. Champion of the ‘Black Horse Rtv Golden key’ in 2010, the first musical reality show of Rtv (Bangladesh). He is a versatile vocalist of modern, patriotic, folk, and traditional Bengali songs.
The beginning
Mahbubur Rahman Shobuj, better known as ‘Shobuj’ in music industry. Born, and brought up in Noakhali, Bangladesh. His passion in music began when he was in secondary school. Received numerous prizes as a district and divisional champion in the Chittagong/Chattogram region for institutional musical competitions until he graduated from college.
Shobuj entered the arena of musical career through band performances in 1990, demonstrating his versatility and interest for numerous genres. Over time, he shifted his attention to new tunes, making a position for himself in Bangladesh’s vibrant and ever-changing music industry.
The journey onto the electronic media arena began in 1991 with the first TV show, ‘Gitibichitra,’ which broadcast during Bangladesh Television’s Eid program.
Albums
The musical industry was witness
to the creation of an appealing album titled ‘Misti Meye,’ issued under the
umbrella of SOLID FINGERS and Asia Voice in 1990. The album’s resonant melodies
rapidly gained broad recognition, positioning [shobuj] as a significant singer
in the music industry throughout the exciting era of the ’90s.
The official release of the album
‘Tumi Kemon Meye,’ produced by the prestigious World Music productions, was the
turning point in Shobuj’ s solo career in 2003.
Shobuj participated to the mixed
album ‘Dhaka Metro – Ka,’ demonstrating a willingness to explore new musical
frontiers by not restricting his abilities to a particular genre.
In 2003, shobuj made the shift
into film playback singing, giving depth and passion to the cinematic universe
with his expressive voice.
As a playback singer his significant song ‘Bodhua bodhua’ was the most famous from the movie ‘Bhalobasa Bhalobasa’.
